Terms of Use

Version 0.1 (draft), not yet in effect. A date is set when it goes live.

The short version. We introduce you to one licensed installer to quote your job. We're the matchmaker, not the tradie. The service is free and there's no obligation. The installer is the one who quotes and does the work, and any estimate on this site is a rough guide, not a quote.

1. Who we are

This website is run by The Aircon Guys (ABN 68 413 660 175), a sole trader based in Victoria ("we", "us", "our"). By using the site or submitting the match form, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. What the service is

We're a referral service. You tell us about your job, and we match you with one licensed installer who covers your area, so they can contact you and give you a quote. The service is free for homeowners and there's no obligation to go ahead with anything. Installers pay us a per-lead referral fee for the introduction (see our Privacy Policy for how your details are handled).

3. What it isn't

We are not the installer. We don't carry out the work, we don't supply equipment, and we don't set the installer's price. We also can't guarantee we'll have a match for you: if no installer covers your suburb and service yet, we'll tell you honestly and no one will call. We won't promise a call we can't deliver.

4. Estimates are a guide, not a quote

Any figure our estimator or content shows you, such as a cost range, a running-cost comparison or a rebate amount, is a general guide based on typical cases. It is not a quote and not advice about your specific home. Only your installer's on-site quote is the real price, and rebate eligibility is confirmed by the installer and the relevant program.

5. Your installer

We verify each installer's licence, insurance and accreditation when they join, and we monitor those so someone whose cover has lapsed is paused from new leads. That said, the installer is independent. They are responsible for their own advice, their quote, the work they do and their own licensing and insurance. Your agreement for the job itself is between you and the installer.

6. Your side

Please give us accurate details so we can match you properly, and deal directly and in good faith with the installer we introduce you to. The details you submit should be your own, or you should have permission to share them.

7. Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that can't be excluded. Where we're allowed to limit our liability for a failure to meet a consumer guarantee, we limit it to resupplying the relevant service again.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not responsible for the acts, omissions, advice, workmanship or quotes of any installer we introduce you to, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or the referral. This doesn't affect your consumer rights above, and it doesn't limit liability that can't be limited by law.

9. The website

The content, design and branding on this site are ours or used with permission, and you shouldn't copy or reuse them without our okay. We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we don't guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.

10. Privacy

How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you and we submit to the courts of that state.
